The novel “A Wrinkle in Time” was one of my favorite books ever and now they made a movie out of it. This is the second movie about “A Wrinkle in Time.” The older movie, made in 2003, was a better representation of the book in my opinion. Both directors had really creative ideas about what they wanted to show and portray in their movies. The main message they both wanted to portray was that you must learn to appreciate your unique qualities. “A Wrinkle in Time” is a novel that shows how one must learn to accept themselves to truly understand love but, only one movie kept this theme, it also was closer to the book, and the cast of that movie looked similar to how they were described in the book. The 2003 version included more details from the book then the 2018 version. The characters in the movie also had the closest lines to the characters in the book. The 2018 movie did a good job at the effects and making everything pretty but they brought in most of their own ideas into the movie. The settings in the 2003 movie also had closer settings. In the book it talked about how the characters went to Ixchel and saw furry creature things. In the newer movie it barely showed Ixchel and they had never came in contact with the beasts. Ultimately the 2003 version was way closer to the book than the new 2018
