The penny had been part of American history for a very long time, but it cost more than what it is worth. Some people don’t want pennies, they refuse them has change or throw them in a drawer. Others say the penny is too important to ban because it's part of the American History. Maria Story stated that, “ The history of the penny reveals more than just a coin-it exposes a piece of American culture.” The people who are against the ban say that the penny is part of our economy, I agree but it is costing the US too much to keep the production on the penny going.
Although the penny is part of American history, it should be banned for many reasons. It’s not worth the production, US doesn’t ship them, and many people decline it for change. The pennies collected dust in drawers. In my belief the penny should be eliminated and stop the production of the penny. If you believe you the penny should be banned what's your call to action? Send a letter to congress, send one to the president, start a protest to ban the penny, do what you can if you believe the penny should
