Currently I'm attending a program called AVID that stands for Advancement VIA Individual Determination. AVID is an academic 4 year elective course that prepares students for college readiness and success. AVID was a challenging situation for me because normally students apply in 8th grade so they can start in the beginning of their freshman year but I had the wonderful opportunity to join my sophomore year. Not to mention, I had no experience in comparison to the other student so I didn't really know what to do and I was completely lost.
