Carl’s Jr had hired model Charlotte McKinney to advertise the All Natural Burger from Carl’s Jr during the Super Bowl 2015 commercial breaks. With the audience of majority men tuning into the Super Bowl, a practically nude model with the purpose to persuade the viewers that the All Natural Burger is as natural as a model's body. With an undertone of sexual and alluring at the beginning of the ad, the model is trying to capture the attention of the attended audience while the male’s voice over in the second half of the ad is meant to be strong, serious and persuasive after the attention is caught. Through this ad, the use of a women’s sexuality and technical codes, this ad reinforces women’s role in society as sexual objects and the boxes of standards that they’re required to live up too. In a society that continuously enjoys labeling people, women are either labeled as the blonde sexpot or being the smart, “ugly” girl, ugly according to how you’re supposed to look. Either of the two boxes you fit into, women and young girls are overly sexualized in any aspect of life, in this case, being eating the Carl’s Jr “All Natural Burger”. While this ad’s first purpose is to catch the attention of men, it also target’s women’s insecurities about their physical appearance, something almost all women have struggled with on a daily basis. With the ad showing a model that enforces the societal standards of females appearance, this idea of being beautiful women can engross young boys into thinking this is how all women should look, and be treated as sexual objects, only continuing the objectification that grows every
