The film “O, Brother, Where Art Thou” accurately represents Homer’s Odyssey because Ulysses faces similar obstacles to Odysseus. Ulysses is trying to get home to his wife who is getting married. Ulysses broke out of prison to find her and try and win her back. In “The Odyssey” Odysseus is trying to get home to his wife after the war. He has to get home before they marry her off to a suitor. In “O, Brother, Where Art Thou”, when the three main characters were walking they heard Sirens. The Sirens made them drink alcohol that made them pass out. In “The Odyssey”, Odysseus’ ship passed the Sirens rock. The crew wanted to stop and hear them sing however, Odysseus knew it was a trap. The sheriff from the film tries to kill Ulysses multiple times
