The short story “The Ransom Of Red Chief” by O. Henry would be very different if Red Chief was the narrator. The first way that it would have been different is it would have been portrayed much more positive. What i mean by this is that Red Chief would express how he was having the time of his life. Evidence from the text states, “‘I like this fine. I never camped out before’” (Henry 72). Another main difference is that if Red chief was the narrator the readers might not be able to understand that he was kidnapped.
