Barbie doll was created during the 1960s and has continued its success throughout the years. This doll was introduced top showed the society’s gender roles of women during that time period compared to gender roles in modern time. During the 1950s, women started too go back to the routine of being homemakers and subservient to their home and husbands. In the 1960s, women were beginning to work to sever the subservient connection to their husbands, but unfortunately they were being sexually harassed. This incident allowed for the government to give birth control for women which had allowed them more freedom and more of their own choices. This period showed that women wanted to assert themselves as men’s equals while expressing their dissatisfaction
