The mighty presence of heroes has been known throughout all of history, leaving behind courageous legacies. Stories and legends have been told of heroes since the beginning of time. These tales, some true and some fictional, remain unforgotten even over the length of the years. How has an element of such remained a paramount detail in almost every culture? Heroes possess a broad influence on cultures around the world through their actions and behavior. The power that comes with being a hero also brings great responsibilities. Some people only see the rewards and fame that heroes reap, when there are bigger sacrifices being made behind the scenes. Heroes fill their purpose in more ways than what meets the eye. Superman, a well known fictional superhero demonstrates this concept in his most recent film Batman VS. Superman. During the film Superman repeatedly sacrifices his time and personal reputation to keep his mother safe from the evil supervillain Lex Luthor. There are more real life heroes in this world that go unnoticed than there are superheroes and greek gods combined. Some of the heroes in everyday life are policemen, firefighters, paramedics, and even soldiers. Heroes like these can prevent threats that many people are unaware of. The people who risk their lives every day for the well being of the people they care about are real life heroes. The terrorist attack on the twin towers in New York city on September 11th, 2001. This horrible event made thousands of people realize how many heroes exist around them. Without the bravery of the rescue teams on that fateful day, the death toll of the attack would have been much worse. Those brave men and women are considered heroes for charging into the face of danger to help people in danger. One major trait a hero should have is fearlessness.
