Our country is increasing in population along with the rest of the world, but the united states is running into overwhelming obesity. This is causing an epidemic throughout our country with the effects of: Prices increasing, depression and social acceptance of being fat. Yet some people think being fat is the way they were meant to be, saying things like I can’t help it. Being real here to not be fat you just have to eat less. According to, a study conducted by Forbes Magazine called “ Stop Complaining About Air Line Food”(2008) They found that “The weight of the average American has increased by 24 pounds since 1960.” This is an exceptional increase for an entire country in a matter of 48 years. The reason the has such an effect on airplanes is because airplanes are weight dependent. Thus the airlines are having to cut other items like snacks due to the weight over load from the customers alone. 735 million peoples used airlines last year, do the math 24 additional pounds per person multiply that and it comes out 17.6 billion pounds of additional weight. Not only is this weight being added this is wear the money comes into play.
