The most terrifying thing in the world is that God is good. Why you may ask? We humans are not good; we have sinned. We have sinned by breaking God's law (the 10 Commandments) by lying, stealing, lusting, etc. What does a good and holy God do with sinners like you and me? He must punish us, just like an earthly judge would rightly punish us for breaking earthly laws.

The just punishment for breaking God's law is death and an eternity in hell. How is that just? Because God is infinite; therefore the punishment of sinning against Him is equally as infinite. How can anyone get to heaven? Only one way... If a sinless person offered to take your punishment,
