1 Central Processing Unit (CPU) The part of the system unit of the computer that is responsible for data processing; it is the largest chip in the computer. The CPU controls all functions performed by the computer’s other components and processes all the commands issued to the software instructions.
2 Random Access Memory (RAM) The computer’s temporary storage space or short- term memory which is located in a set of chips on the system unit’s motherboard. When the computer is running the Ram remembers everything that the computer needs in order to process data.
3 Hard Drive The computer’s nonvolatile, primary storage device for permanent storage of software and documents. It is to store everything you keep on your computer. This device goes on storing information even when the power is switched off.

6 Video Card An expansion card that is installed inside the system unit to translate binary data into the images you view on your monitor. This card takes data from the CPU and turn it into pictures which are made of tiny pixels.
7 Optical Disk Drive A (ODD) retrieve and/or store data on optical discs drive that uses a laser light to store and read data and maybe write to CDs, DVDs, or Blu- ray discs. This allows you to play music or watch movies using pre-recorded
