In recent years, the Super Bowl trophy has become the most coveted trophy in all of sports and the game has created key rivalries. For young players like Odell Beckham of the NY Giants, playing in the big game is a primary goal. This past season, the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers played in a historic Super Bowl 50 after claiming the AFC Championship and NFC Championship titles, respectively.

The Arizona Cardinals came into the NFC Championship game with the top offensive squad in the NFL. However, it was the Carolina Panther offense behind MVP candidate Cam Newton who led his team to the NFC Championship title over the Arizona Cardinals 49-15. The Arizona Cardinals defense was simply unable to stop Cam Newton who passed for 300+ yards and rushed for two touchdowns. After securing the NFC Championship title over the Arizona Cardinals, the Carolina Panthers earned the right to play in Super Bowl 50.

Super Bowl 50
The Carolina Panthers with QB Cam Newton entered the game against the Denver Broncos and future Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning as a touchdown favorite. After a stellar defensive performance, the Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 24-10. While neither Cam Newton nor Peyton Manning made significant contributions during the game, the fans were treated by the Denver Broncos defense to one of the best defensive performances in Super Bowl history. For the Carolina Panthers and QB Cam Newton, the game was a bitter disappointment after playing to a 17-1 record in games leading up to the title game.
