The first standard in the NASW Standards and Indicators of cultural competence is; “social workers shall function in accordance with the values, ethics and standards of the NASW Code of Ethics…("NASW cultural standards," n.d.).” Unfortunately the social worker in this case study was found to have violated the code of ethics.
