Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 made an impact on legislation for the diverse population in America. There are still obstacles to overcome for racial equality but the law makes it possible for minorities to receive adequate healthcare. As healthcare professionals, it is important to provide culturally compentent care to the diverse population. Culturally competent patient centered care decrease healthcare disparities in United States (Cartwright-Smith, Rosenbaum, & Teitelbaum, 2012). I feel that, laws that increase healthcare accessibility for diverse patients will be the future of healthcare services in our country.
