Clara Barton was a nurse in the civil war that treated wounded soldiers in battle, she repaired soldiers so they could go back to war. Not only did Clara restore many men, but her sister Sally helped her tend the needs of wounded men. Clara traveled from battle to battle, she soon organized a system that would get her medical supplies fast. Soldiers became comfortable when she was aiding them, and she soon earned the nickname “Angel of the Battlefield”.
Clara is the founder of the american red cross association. She started this organization while she was traveling overseas, and brought her idea with her to a battle in France. The idea was to hang a flag from a medical hut to show people that wounded soldiers are inside, the flag is a red
