This assignment presents how important Clara Barton was to the evolution of nursing and how she impacted the number of lives saved during the Civil War. Throughout her lifetime Barton made a drastic difference in the views of nursing. Before the war Barton taught at schools until she left at the start of the war to Washington D.C. to help care for wounded soldiers that were rushed to the infirmaries. She started making a difference shortly after the beginning of the Civil War by traveling among the soldiers and bringing them essential supplies such as food, water and bandages for wounded soldiers.
