Rationale I believe that education is a very important part of every child’s life. My personal goals for my future classroom are to help each student work to their full potential, and help them become a responsible young adult. I want my classroom to be a safe, yet comfortable learning environment for my students. It is my opinion that teachers should have great and effective classroom management skills. My idea of having classroom management is for the teacher to model appropriate behaviors that is expected out of the students to create an appropriate and safe learning environment. Next, I believe that the importance of classroom management is for the teacher to establish rules, clear procedures, consequences, rewards, and be consistent. This allows the students to understand what will be expected from them each day. Other importance of classroom management is to provide effective communication between the teacher and students. Overall, the importance of classroom management is to allow learning to occur. The benefits of creating and implementing a classroom management plan are that it allows the teacher to provide a productive and cooperative learning environment to increase the success of students. A classroom management plan allows students to get the most out of their time spent in class and provides the teacher with more teaching time. When time is spent dealing with behavioral interruptions teaching time is taken away. Teachers and students can build positive and respectful relationships between each other because classroom management helps students interact appropriately. When students interact appropriately they work more productively causing a positive learning environment. Classroom management when implemented also provides a class that is organized and productive. An organized and productive classroom reduces the likeliness of students having the opportunity to harm and fight their peers which creates a safe learning environment. In closing, creating and implementing a classroom management plan creates a safe, yet comfortable environment where students will want to learn.

Dear Parent/Guardian and student,
My name is Ms. Jacobs and your son/daughter is enrolled in my math class this year. I earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Middle Grades Education with emphasis in mathematics and science from Valdosta State University.
Math is a very demanding course. We will cover a lot of material during this school year. There will be homework assigned Monday through Thursday of every week excluding holidays. I have attached a list of supplies that each student will need. These materials should be brought to class every day.
I do not tolerate disrespect, so in my class everyone will be respectful. Everyday each student should come to class prepared and ready to learn. There is a list of rules, expectations, consequences, and rewards attached to this letter. I have written a contract that is attached to this letter for you the parent(s) and/or guardian, and the student to sign. This contract simply says that you have read my class rules, expectations, rewards, consequences, and list of supplies. If you have any questions and/or concerns please contact me.
I am looking forward to an exciting year. It is my goal to help each student work to their full potential. I provide a safe, yet comfortable learning environment for my students. If your child has any problems with their work, I am always willing to provide extra tutoring before and after school. I will be happy to send extra work home with your child so that they may have more practice with the material they are learning. Please do not hesitate to contact me at (555) 123-4567 or mijacobs@valdosta.edu if you have any questions and/or concerns throughout the school year.
Thank you,
