In the 1600’s many countries were sending people into what they called the “New World” and were forming permanent settlements along the entire Eastern Coast of what is now America. By the 1700’s there was two large regions that started to thrive being the Chesapeake Region and New England. Although New England and the Chesapeake region started from similar origins, they quickly started to vary. These two colonies spread out through their culture, their diet, and how they treated enslaved people.
