In class we learned about “Developing Cultural Competencies Awareness for Future Educators” with Dana Lawless-Andric. Our class spent a lot of time considering diversity and how it impacts every aspect of our lives. Diversity according to Dana is “Understanding/ respecting/valuing differences, with the knowledge that we are all connected by one’s life’s elements.” Along with diversity we learned about the many ways that people are different and how both diversity and culture will play into our lives as an educator.
