In 1492 Columbus crossed the Atlantic from Europe to the Caribbean. Because of him the worlds food supply has changed. In document 3 historian Alfred Crosby’s point states that many of the common foods you eat today came from across the Atlantic Ocean. This was called the Columbian Exchange. The Columbian Exchange was a trade of foods, cultures, idea’s, and diseases between The New World and The Old World.
Imagine that you’re eating breakfast. You’re tired but you have to go to work so you grab a cup of coffee. You can thank Columbus for that.
