An ideology is sets of beliefs that characterize individual form of thinking according with the era in which these individuals are living also, an ideology tend to conserve or transform our social, economic, political, and cultural systems. Gender roles in our society are an important factor for our economic and social development. Each gender role has big influence in our lives and the way we react and behave accordingly with our gender.

Gender is not the same as sex; sex is basically the characteristics of a person that makes that individual male or female. It is something that we are born with. Women represent the “weaker” side and men the opposite “strong”. Peach's article basically described in great details the positions, status and roles of women that prevent growth in the military. There are some arguments that support this article. During decades just men can form part of the military because “manliness” was necessary to obtain an effective combat soldiering and women were incapable to have these virtues. Another important point is that men supposedly fight to defend the inferior side “Women” and women cannot form part of their military team because they have to be protecting not in risk. Women are the weaker sex and need to be protected by strong men; they have to depend on men. Also, the most important points to support this idea are that women do not have the necessary physical ability to defend themselves. Women do not have force to fight in a combat. They can easily get harassed for not having the same physical strength as men. They need to be protected from the risks of being sexually and physically abuse in the war. They can cause distraction to male soldiers for them to destroy the enemies. Another important points are pregnancy and childbearing. These types of events drastically affect a war; women during the pregnancy constantly change their mood. Also, the amount of work they work will be significantly reduced because of their pregnancy. Women are going to promote sexual fraternization. This basically means that men are more closely to have sex with a person from the opposite sex than their own.
