Fear means an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous. Perseverance means steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. “Any news from your mother” (Anderson 222). She is afraid that her mother will never come back or is dead. “This would not happen. No. Please” ( Anderson 147).
