During the Colonial American period, there were many democratic and undemocratic features in the government.

During the Colonial Period, people were trying to make their government democratic. One way that this could happen would be to allow the voters to have a say so in how the government was run and some of the laws that were passed. Also in a democratic government if the leader that was in charge did not do the job that he was assigned to do the voters could overthrow him and get a new leader (Document 3). When the leaders time was out the voters would vote for who they wanted to be their new leader, it was not like they were just assigned a leader to run their government. This was one of the democratic features of the Colonial Period
