The suspect was involved in a traffic collision. The suspect was given field sobriety tests and was determined to be under the influence of alcoholic beverage. The suspect was placed under arrest for DUI and was transported to OPD for booking.

Investigation:

On 11/06/2015 at 0239 hours, Corporal Nelsen and I responded to a call at 400 North San Antonio Avenue, reference a traffic collision. Upon arrival, we spoke with Barry Byrd in the parking lot located in the south side of the San Antonio Park. He said Jose Carbajal backed into his parked vehicle. When I got closer to Carbajal I could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his body. When Carbajal stood up, he staggered and was unsteady on feet. I saw he had a red and watery eyes. I could see him swaying from front to back and left to right. I asked Carbajal if he was drinking. He said yes.
