Día De de los Muertos, or day of the dead is a mexican celebration. It is celebrated on the 31st of October and the 1st and 2nd of November. It is said that it originated from the Aztecs and the Mayans. It is celebrated to honor the dead and their passing over. During this celebration participants make food, decorations, wear costumes, and give sentimental things as an offering to the dead. In some areas people have parades for their departed loved ones.
