Over the years, a number of studies have been done to support this view. They have found that children who develop these skills advance further in their career, have longer marriages, and suffer less from depression. I believe if you teach children from a young age how to manage their emotions, they will be able to successfully handle and solve problems more effectively when they are adults.
There are several different skill sets involved with emotional intelligence. The first skill set is self-awareness. You need to be able to identify what you are feeling and you need to use your feelings as a guide. You need to be able to manage your emotions. We need to be able to control our feelings. The ability to motivate yourself is very important. You must also have empathy and social skills. These are just a few skills involved with emotional intelligence.
I believe that emotional intelligence should be taught in schools. It should be a shared responsibility between the family and the school. I feel that it is our responsibility to make sure our children are emotionally stable and socially responsible.
