Application
An application is a computer programme that gives you the tools to accomplish specific tasks. An application in a software programme which enables you to perform a range of useful tasks. Examples of applications are word processing programs, spreadsheet software, databases or graphics packages.

Sam needs his own computer
In his computer he needs input and output devices. An output device is a piece of hardware that is used to display or output data which has been processed or has been stored on the computer. An input device is also a piece of hardware that is used to enter data into a computer.
As input devices he needs Keyboard, mouse, scanner. Keyboard is the primary way to enter information into computer. Sam can type letters, enter numbers or send other instructions to his computer with keyboard. A mouse is one of the most important parts of the computer system. It will allow Sam to navigate and performing virtual operations with the click of a button. A Scanner is also important. It can read paper documents and turn them into electronic files, usually saved as images. It will allow him to take an I.D of customers in digital format.
As output devices he needs monitor, printer, plotter. The most common output device is the monitor or VDU. A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises the display device, circuitry and an enclosure. Sam can use his computer monitors for data processing. A printer is a peripheral which makes a representation of an electronic document. Sam can use his printer to print documents which is stored on his computer. A plotter can be used to produce high quality, accurate, A3 size or bigger drawings. Sam can use it for printing out plans for his computer building plans.
