On the surface a like able man most everyone like him. John Wayne Gacy respected in the community, charming and easy going. John Wayne Gacy was a good Catholic and sharp businessman. Owner of a construction company. Gacy was active member in the Jaycees and was also a Democratic Party precinct captain. Gacy had his photo taken with the First Lady, Rosalynn Carter. John Wayne Gacy also spent much of his free time hosting elaborate street parties for his friends and neighbors, serving in community groups and entertaining children as "Pogo the Clown". John Wayne Gacy was a generous, hardworking, friendly, devoted family man on the surface.
John Wayne Gacy was a born on St. Patrick’s Day 1942. Gacy’s older sister Joanne had preceded him by two years and two years after Gacy’s birth came his other Sister Karen. The family had a strong Catholic upbringing. John Wayne Gacy was known to be quiet boy who worked odd jobs for spending money, like newspaper routes and bagging groceries, and busied himself with Boy Scout activities. The accident was believed to cause a blood clot in his brain that was left undiscovered until he was 16 years of age. Gacy suffered from blackouts that were believed to be caused by the clot. At 17, Gacy was also diagnosed with a heart ailment that he was hospitalized for several times during his life.
