Ever wondered what event's actually took place through the hardships that the freedmen slaves faced? After the civil war ended african american slaves were freed and then given the right to vote. Even though they were freedmen they still received the same horrible and racist treatment. They were a so called terrorist group called the Ku Klux Klan who tortured African Americans. Both sides of the country evenly contributed to the failed reconstruction efforts. Who killed the reconstruction the North or the South ? I truly believe the Southern resistance ultimately killed the Reconstruction efforts.

In my belief the south damaged and killed the reconstruction efforts due to evidence from Documents "A" & "B". As stated by Abram Colby " On the 29th of October 1869, the klansmen broke my door open, took me out of my bed, took me to the woods and whipped me three hours or more and left me for dead... They said rot me . " Do you think you will ever vote another damned radical ticket?'' I said, "there was an election tomorrow, I would vote the radical ticket" the Ku Klux Klan came after Abram Colby because he was voting against their main interest which was to keep the government in a white supremacist dictatorship. He was foully murdered by the Ku-Klux-Klan in the Grand Jury room of the Court house on Saturday.... he was stabbed five or six times, and then hanged on a hook in the Grand Jury room..." It appears that the Klan is attacking members or the government who have the power to pass laws and put Klansmen on trail.
