The book Flipped is a two side point of view on one story, by Wendelin Van Draanen. Van Draanen continues the novel with Bryce Loski and Julianna “Juli” Baker going back and forth telling their side of their life with each other. It started with the two seven year olds in second grade were Juliana falls madly in love with Bryce. “Proper lighting is everything, Julianna.” her father said (Daanen 34) as he was painting a landscape in the backyard and she was telling him about her over stuck Bryce. At first Juli was fairly confused at the time and kept wondering what her father had meant when he told her about “proper lighting.” shortly after her conversation with her father she started to think that what he said was based on Bryce and she should look at the full picture instead of one flower in the garden.
