While the National Honor Society contains four pillars of character, scholarship, leadership, and service, I feel I best exemplify scholarship. Committing and dedicating myself to my education has been an important aspect of my life. Although there has been adversity along the way, through the hard work and sacrifice, I was able to overcome it. For example, in elementary, a few selected students were put in a cohort advanced math program and I wasn’t one of them, but I was encouraged by a teacher to attend the informational meeting.
