In the passage Noah and the Arkansas Ark, Gary Blackwood shows how the main characters view of his family members changes. He starts off doubting in the lack of education of his family members, but as time goes on, he slowly grows curious of their work, finally realizing they have a different kind of knowledge than he has. Noah Appleton’s son (the main character) is through which we see the point of view from, originally has total disbelief in the capability and wisdom of his family counterparts. Paragraph four of this short story states, “Rain” I said “There’s nary a cloud in the sky!” This shows how Noah’s son has complete and total disbelief of His capabilities. Paragraph seven shows his reasoning for his negative thoughts. “Them things got no basis at all in science.” I’d been going to school for a while, you see, and thought I knew just about everything.” He thought that since he had been going to school for a while, he thought that since he had not learned of flash floods and rain, that there was no such thing. …show more content…
Section 13 shows how this played out. “Lucky for me school was out, or I’d’ve had my hands full, fighting all the boys that would’ve called my Daddy crazy.” Noah’s son wishing to fight these other boys, showed that he stands up for his father’s line of work. This small change attitude conveys his growing love for his father’s
