First, I would like to start by saying thank you to the main people in my life who have helped me the most, my parents. At times when I wanted to give up, they were there pushing me to keep going. I also want to thank my friends for being there for me through my not so good times. Thank you to the teachers for not giving up on me when I was suffering from the senioritis and also for actually making me do work so I could learn something! It is so crazy to think that we will be graduating in a few months. Everything has gone by so fast, but I have learned many lifelong lessons from my high school experience. As we went through elementary and middle school we began to change in many ways. In middle school, it gave us the opportunity to meet new people and become more independent. After those 3 years flashed passed us, we were ready to take the big step into high school. When we first entered high school everything felt so strange because we were the new underclassmen that were clueless and socially awkward. Now, halfway through our senior year we think back to those very first days. It is so hard to believe that the people I have been going to school with for 12 years are going to be starting their own lives and going to college or getting jobs. Everyone says time flies when you’re having fun and that is exactly what happened. These four years have been a roller coaster of emotions but there is one thing that I will never forget and that is all of the amazing friendships…

As David Foster Wallace said: “learning how to think really means learning how to exercise some control over how and what you think. It means being conscious and aware enough to choose what you pay attention to and to choose how you construct meaning from experience. Because if you cannot exercise this kind of choice in adult life, you will be totally hosed. Think of the old cliché about quote the mind being an excellent servant but a terrible master.
That is real freedom.…

In this essay Angelou discusses all of the emotions she experienced while attending her middle school graduation at the segregated school Lafayette County Training School in Stamps, Arkansas. were relentless about moving away from our parents and embarking on the independent journey of college. We spent much of the day together before returning home to our families. When I got home, my nerves were settled. I began to grasp the idea that graduation was a very special day that should not be feared for. I realized that I was only moving closer to my dreams. My mother was preparing lunch, while I dwelled in the midst of my loved ones.
The time had finally came for the graduates to assemble…

President Obama: Sandy Hook Speech
Obama’s speech contained a good introduction and had all of the right ideas we would look for in a good speech. My only problem with president Obama’s speech was his delivery. All of the flaws I spotted were in his delivery. There were many observations made on my part while watching president Obama’s speech on the Sandy Hook tragedy. Simple mistakes such as lack in eye contact, long unnecessary pauses, stumbling when starting sentences, and even seeming too…
