Great Barrier Reef
The great barrier reef is formed and made of living organisms. Different types of bacteria, sand, lifeforms, corals, fish and plants build up the great barrier reef together. They produce sperm and it flows around the area and lays in a different part of the sea. Some of it will die, some of it will live to become another coral.

The great barrier reef has lost at least 50% of its coral in the past 27 years of its life. The coal and gas companies around the reef are forced to dump their stuff into the water because there isn’t that many other places to dump it. This creates a huge affect on the reef. The reef itself is close to ending up on the “World heritage endangered” list.

There is a trial going until 2050 to see what these contributions can do to save the great barrier reef. They will measure the loss of the plants and lifeforms and see if there is any improvement. The trial started in 2010 as a fourty year trial.

The great barrier reef seems to be going down hill from my point of this examination. The governments are trying their best to keep the reef healthy using money to buy preservatives and medicine studies but it may not work as they plan it to. The coral will soon be extinct within the next 100 years.

Once there is no reef to study, there is no reason for them to run a business unless they begin to study and specialise in a different item or a different area in science. The businesses will no longer have a way of making money until something else pops up. Maybe we will find another great reef. Maybe we will find something else to study.
