Gun Safety Research Paper

Firearms are used 2.5 million times a year in self defense, 6850 times a day, according to Gun Owners of America. That is more than 80 times the amount they are used to harm innocent people. They save thousands every day from harm and more people should fulfill their civil duty and responsibility by keeping and bearing arms. If a larger amount of responsible people carried a firearms, it would save many lives and prevent crimes from becoming an inferno of violence. Citizens would be able to step up in the time of need and end any horrendous act that would end in the death of innocent people. The defense would be immediate and ensure the likelihood of inhibiting the aggressors.

Although, if gun safety was taught more in the home or in school, younger children and teens would understand how serious the weapons can be and they wouldn’t have the desire to play with such tools. Yet, if a person decided they wanted to commit a crime, it’s much more likely they would travel the illegal route in order to not get caught. A person would buy a stolen weapon that requires no background check. Unlike any gun store, which requires a background check and a grace period. Anybody carrying with a CCW is a person who is following the law and exercising their rights, they aren’t out to mug a lady in an ally
