Lysander is is one of the main characters in A Midnight Summer’s Dream. He is viewed as a young lover in ancient Athens, Greece who has his eyes set on a very beautiful girl named Hermia. She is what makes him happy the most and all he wants in life is to be with her. However, Hermia’s father, Egeus stands in the way of allowing Lysander to marry his daughter. Egeus wants Hermia to marry another man named Demetrius. Lysander pleads that he is the better man since Demetrius had won the heart of Hermia’s friend, Helena who loved him then and now even after being dumped.
