Ronald Reagan was elected as President of the United States on November 4, 1980. He was officially sworn in on January 20, 1981. President Reagan too many people is a president to remember and one who I consider to be one of the greatest Presidents we have had. However, if you ask other people, they may feel as if he was one of the biggest mistake to happen to the United States. Despite that fact you may be a republican or democrat there is no denying that in the 1980’s, Ronald Reagan changed the world and truly made history. President Reagan was born on February 6, 1911. His mother Nelle Wilson Reagan, and father Jack Regan. Although Ronald Reagan grew up poor, he did not let the hardships of being poor get in the way of his education and dreams. This is because of the tax cuts for the rich, middle class and poor would help the economy. The idea was if the rich had the money, they would create the jobs, the middle class become the business owners and they would then higher the poor people to work. However, many feel this is the time where the richer became richer and poor became poorer. President Regan wanted the American worker to keep more of their hard working money. Unfortunately, consumerism would rise and this would cause money to go back into the national economy. In the end, President Reagan accomplished many great things during his time in the oval office. He was able to restore hope in Americans, he had economic prosperity and he ended the Cold War. Many see him as demanding and dangerous, but I see him as one on the best presidents we may have ever had. In many ways I see our current President, President Trump much like former President Reagan. They both have the dream to make America great
