The triangular trade route was a triangle between North America and Europe. Slaves were brought from Africa to the Caribbean, and the U.S. The middle passage was between Africa and the U.S. Colonists could only send their exports to England or other English colonies. England earned lots of money from the triangular trade route because of the tobacco and sugarcane. Tobacco became known as a cash crop in England because no one knew that tobacco was bad for you and everyone bought tobacco in Europe. The passage to take the tobacco to Europe was 9,000 miles long.

The journey that the African slaves had to take to get to the U.S was called the middle passage. Many of the Africans died while going through the middle passage because of lack of food, and diseases. The Africans had little space while in the ships because the ships were small and there were many Africans packed in the ships. Some colonists tried to end slavery and went to King George the third to protest. Some people in Europe wanted to go to the U.S but they did not have enough money to go so other Europeans paid for their passage in exchange for working for that person for several years. Those people became known as indentured servants and after they were done working they would get tools, land and food to start a new life. Indentured servants unlike the Africans got to eat with his/her owner and had lots of water to
