Civil disobedience both positively and negatively affects our society. It can lead to both expected and wanted outcomes as much as it can also lead to unwanted, catastrophic outcomes. The impact of civil disobedience really depends on the situation and the opinion of the people. Civil disobedience impacts our society positively and negatively equally.

The positive impact of civil disobedience depends on the action of the disobedience, if the action is innocent and does no harm to the people and is in favor of a good, wanted cause then it can be viewed as positive. Every American is different and has their own thoughts and feelings toward the things that affect them. Some view the Black Lives Matter movement as unneeded and just a way to get attention, while others think that it was needed desperately and is a great thing to be alive for. Both opinions are right because they are your own and you believe them. If a civil disobedience dangers your life or the life of a loved one, it can greatly impact how you view a certain movement. But also, if a non-supporter of the movement dangers you or a loved one then that can greatly affect how you view the movement as well. Opinions and views are based on your personal beliefs, the beliefs of those around you, and your personal experiences. Therefore it is possible for everything to be both positive and negative in the eyes of the world.

Civil disobedience has a positive impact because it supports a good cause and is hopefully assisting in a peaceful protest to accompany a good outcome. But civil disobedience can also be a negative impact if the action is harmful and dangerous to the people around the person doing the disobedience.
