On January 20th, 1989, George Herbert Walker Bush was elected the 41st President of the United States of America. Prior to that, Bush served two terms as U.S vice president for President Reagan, from 1981 to 1989. At the age of 17, he met his current wife, Barbra. Bush has a background in the U.S Navy, he served 3 years. Also, he attended Yale and is one of their most notable alum. His motivation to attend was to be with his older brother Prescott, named after his father. Mr. Bush left home but carried the same values at his school where the motto was “not for self”. In his fourth year, he had a staph infection and was in the hospital for six weeks. Bush then decided to repeat the semester. He repeated his junior year and was with pupils of his own age. All of his siblings call this time “the making of George Bush”. George H. W. Bush prospered, he was involved in several different clubs at the academy. He was senior class president, and captain of Varsity soccer and Varsity baseball. His younger sister, Nancy said people would go to her house for the chance to run into Mr. Bush. When Bush turned 18, he graduated and enlisted into the armed forces. After serving his country, he attended Yale for two years. He finished early due to his accelerated program. In later years, he suffered a critical neck injury. His first public appearance since then was at a Houston Astros game where he served the first pitch. After President Trump’s election, Bush still remained in poor health.
