On January 20, 1981, the American people elected one of the most impactful and effective presidents ever to step foot in the white house: Ronald Reagan. By way of leadership, Reagan accomplished great success, including economic prosperity, and the end to the Cold War. He was able to achieve these successes by establishing the true meaning and purpose of the government, as well as solidifying the American military power. In addition, Reagan worked with Mikhail Gorbachev to institute peace between the U.S.A and Soviet Union. Initially a democrat campaigning for democratic candidates, Reagan changed his political party to republican, and is known as the chief of modern day conservatism. As a noble man and significant president, Reagan fortified the American economy, established peace with former enemies, and gave power back to the U.S.A. (Ronald Reagan) …show more content…
