Free speech was given to American citizens for a reason but should be censored. Freedom of speech gives us the right to say how we think or feel about something. Freedom of speech lets us say how we feel inside, it lets us express ourselves in a way that no one else can do for us. Freedom of speech is very important and should be censored but never be taken away.

The first amendment states that Congress shall make no law respecting of establishing a religion or prohibiting the exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of people peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Meaning that the first amendment guarantees freedom in religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individual people speak freely. It also guarantees the right for citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition. Here in America we have a lot of rights and that should never be taken away.Therefore we were meant to have free speech in this country and if the writers of the constitution were

All the participants in the klan also have the freedom of speech to say what they believe and feel about another race, does this make it right? For example last Martin Luther King Jr day, the KKK placed letters on many people’s driveways such as my own. In the letter it has some vulgar and very disturbing things in the letter. Even though some think this is bad they still have the freedom of speech to say that. If we as the state of Oklahoma wanted to put a stop to this we would also have to stop all of the other groups in Oklahoma as well. Therefore this would not end
