In the gym before a game begins, there is a crisp stillness of people in sight. Quiet. Not a sound is being made. Everyone removes their hats. Then the song is played or sung in some way as the people stand for the playing of our national anthem. When asked what I think my responsibility to America is, the standing for our national anthem is one thing that comes to mind. Are there others? Well of course! What kind of country would this be if we all thought the same thing to help make our country greater. One thing about responsibility to America that is an obvious, would be to follow the laws. The laws are not always followed by those who don’t want to. I feel that enforcing the law is a responsibility of mine, and it happens almost everyday. When thinking about my responsibility it can mean many things, but it is my actions that affect this country. It is everyone’s action that affect this country. Following the laws is one thing that can be a responsibility of mine to this country.

When thinking about my responsibility America I think about veterans as one thing. Veterans are the unsung heroes of this country. At school there is always a Veteran’s Day Program that our school is required to go to. I think that it should be my duty as an american to be the most respectful to those who served. Many take it for granted that this is nothing, and no one should never be disrespectful to a person who served in some way for this country.

In an overall statement my responsibility to America can be many things. It could be forcing the everyday laws that uphold this great nation. There could also be standing for the national anthem for those who served. It also might be honoring the veterans that fought for our country so we could be free today. Being responsible for something can be a big job, and for be responsible to America is the biggest one I think there
