The Islamic faith is a complex lifestyle comprised of leaders, important leaders, and a vast amount of innovations. “Islamic: Empire of Faith” was an educational video that taught the viewer about the culture and history of Islamic people and how world leaders ultimately changed the way the Islamic faith spread across the world. Throughout the centuries, Muslims also contributed to society by developing various advancements in the math, engineering, astronomy, medicine, and paper and publishing worlds.
Islam is a monotheistic religion started by the prophet Muhammad. It was a popular religion that spread quickly throughout the Middle East. Historically, the Islamic faith instigated many problems, both within and outside of their religion. Multiple Muslim leaders created wars where certain tribes were captured and sold into slavery. And when the Pope created a Holy War, Muslims and Christians alike were cut-down in the slaughter. In almost every war, religion is the cause. In the wars and battles presented by the movie, the onslaught was driven by religious reasons.

In all the mosques, there were beautiful mosaics depicting religious scenes. To this day, art is a big factor in mosques. The paintings, the statues, everything is so ornate that you could spend hours viewing all of the miniscule details. The architecture itself is a marvel all on its own. Not just of the mosques, but of many building important to the Islamic Faith. The architecture is very similar to what already existed in the Egyptian, Roman, and Byzantine cultures. In the early beginnings of the Islamic faith, stories of great literature feats were told by mouth. The storytellers, or grios, would re-enact stories vividly using different voices and acting out the story.
