Currently, there are many cities or towns that still have problems regarding racial bias within communities. For example, characteristics of an individual. The purpose of a chief or the author within law enforcement agency should come up with ways to not only address the issue, but also to find solutions in a non-violent approach. The solutions that the author recommends from a combination of research and observation of current events are forums, partnerships, and initiatives. The reason why the author recommended these three options based on the information provided by the author’s sources. Forums are where a representative from an organization, important public figure, or celebrity answer questions in a town-hall setting from the moderator to the audience. The questions vary depending on issues that’s affecting communities from all angles. i.e. police and community relations, gun control, and other issues that are affecting communities. The initiatives are where law enforcement agencies work with local governments or communities to not only improve relations, it will also reduce crime within communities. i.e. crime prevention and neighborhood watch (Fire Science, n.d., para. 3). …show more content…

There are organizations like the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) that make connections with different agencies within law enforcement that have initiatives to not only combat crime in certain groups, they help troubled individuals and turning their life around. i.e. Police and Youth Engagement (IACP, n.d., para. 1). The initiatives’ aim is to not only identify and aid troubled youths from all walks of life, it will partner with communities to receive feedback regarding the juvenile system (IACP, n.d., para. 1-2). The author’s recommendation from the three options is
