Issues In Mental Health Care Mental health,a shadowed problem in the United States , has affected millions of people across the nation. Whether it be affecting their bodies and or their personalities and behaviors it can be dangerous for themselves and others. Mental hospitals are beginning to shut down due to budget cuts and cruelty in hospitals. While News is spreading like wildfire of many mass shootings due to mentally ill people.” With 164,000 mentally ill people homeless, 365,000 incarcerated, more than 770,000 on parole, and 95,000 regularly being denied beds at hospitals the shutting down of mental hospitals is only worsening the violent outbursts of some mentally ill people.”SAMHSA (2011). Mental illness does not discriminate it can affect men women and children of any race, ethnicity, of gender. Most conditions are manageable and with the right help you can lead a very happy life. Unemployment rates can go up ninety percent among individuals with mental health disorders and problems. “Three percent of the U.S population have severe mental illness and Every one in four adults will be diagnosed with a type of mental disorder in their lifetime” (2013,404).”Around 20% of the world's children and adolescents have mental disorders or mental problems and about half of mental disorders happen before the age of 14” NIMH (2005) . Mental diseases can be very hard to understand and to make it worse the hospitals are shutting down. Although most aren't, mentally ill people can be very dangerous, some of the most deadly school shootings and mass shootings were due to mentally ill people losing control. If America can fix these problems such as cruelty and budget issues then mental hospitals would stop shutting down and mentally ill people will have correct treatment, if this can be done there will be less school and mass shootings, and less mentally ill people will be homeless, jailed, or on parole. And if mental hospitals stop shutting down mentally ill patients won't have to worry about being denied beds at hospitals. All mentally ill people no matter if it's a severe mental illness or just a small common one, should be treated and have somewhere to go if they're in need and if mental hospitals shut down they will not have the care and treatment they need, furthermore this is why America needs to stop cruelty in mental hospitals by fining for abuse and stop budget cuts by not over hiring. When America fixes these problems mentally ill citizens will always have somewhere to go and there will be less violent outbursts of people who can't be treated and go out of
