Jackie Robinson is known for being the first black athlete to play Major League Baseball. He was one of the best baseball players in history, but because of his color, he had to deal with racist comments and threats towards him and his family. He did not only overcame a color barrier, but playing Major League Baseball meant he was dedicated in what he did. A barrier I have overcome is also breaking a color barrier. I know I am not the only or first Mexican to go to college, but I am making a mark in my culture. I am a first generation college student.
