The Music of My Life

When I first wake-up I can be cranky and lazy. Taking forever to do any and everything when I first wake-up is a usual every morning. Bruno Mars “Lazy Song” off of his album Doo-Wops & Hooligans (released in 2010) fits me perfectly during this time of the day. My favorite verse of the song is “ I just want to lay in my bed, don’t feel like picking up my phone , so leave a message at the tone” because when I try to get up in the morning and I hear my phone going off I usually let it continue to go off until it stops. Dragging to do everything in the morning because I am dreading starting my day.

After attending classes , I go to lunch . I am always excited and happy to go get some food. The song “ Birthday Cake” by Rihanna off her album Talk That Talk (released in 2011) fits the occasion to me because the song makes me feel happy and puts me in an extremely good mood just as food does. After leaving lunch and finishing classes for the day I head back to my room to put on some comfortable clothing. Micheal Jackson’s “Leave Me Alone” from his album Bad hits the nail on the head when I want to describe exactly how I feel at the moment. The part that says “I don’t care what you are talking about, I don’t care what you say, don’t come walking” fits the situation great. After my classes are done I just want to lay in my bed and be alone for a while.

After changing , clothes I like to sit back and relax for awhile and just watch tv. “ Don’t kill my vibe” by Kendrick Lamar fits this part of my day perfectly because the song basically expresses being In a good mood and not wanting anyone to ruin it. 1Once I have had my alone time, I like to study for a while and do homework. A song called “Read A Book” by Bomani Armah (D’Mite) from his album Ear Banger comes to mind because I usually feel like I am doing something that should not be postponed. Reading is Fundamental so I believe I should do very often.

After doing homework , I got to the café to eat dinner with my friends. At dinner is the not the only time I see my friends but it is really the only time I have to actually sit and talk with them . The artist Whodini has a song called “Friends” from the album Escape. The song “Friends” fits the way I feel when I see them because I know everyone doesn’t have real friends like I have so I feel truly blessed.
After eating dinner with my friends we all like to go to one of our friends rooms to either continue talking, listen to music , or watch something on tv and sometimes we might go off campus somewhere. Wiz Khalifa’s “Living Young, Wild, and Free” fits us all together because we love partying or just chilling together. Whether we are heading into town or heading to someone’s dorm room we always have fun together. This song has an up tempo that usually gets teens and college students energetic.

Once I am done eating and talking with my friends I go back to my room and study some more then get into my bed for the rest of the night. The song that comes to my mind after this is “Lean On Me” by Bill Withers from his album Still Bill. I think out of all the songs I have listed this is one song that fits me at this time the best compared to the other times. I feel this way because my bed is there for me when I need it. My bed understands my exhaustion at the end of the day this why the song is perfect.

When I am in a really good mood I like to listen to Beyoncé. Her music always makes feel great and brightens my day even more. Her music brighten me up because she has a beautiful personality and a way of making me smile more. When I feel emotional I like to listen to either Rihanna or Drake because they best depict my moody ways. When I want to be energetic I like to listen to Lil Wayne or Nicki Minaj because they bring so much life to their music. I believe music effects people in many different ways. To me music is more than just something to listen to or play,
