Jeffrey Dahmer is known as the Milwaukee Cannibal, he was an American serial killer who took the lives of 17 males. He as born on May 21, 1960 and died on November 28 1994 at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin. From a very young age Dahmer became fascinated with death. He collected carcasses of dead animals and was intrigued by the sound of clanking animal bones. His first murder happened soon after he graduated high school when he picked up a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks and proceeded to take him to his parent’s home. He enlisted in the army short after this incident and was deployed to Germany. The Army decided to discharge him because he was consuming alcohol was too often. After the discharge, he returned to ohio, but then moved to Wisconsin to live with his grandmother. Over the course of 13 years, he was able to rape, dismember and kill those 17 males by luring them with money, drugs and sex. His main target was mostly African-American men in which he picked up at bars, bus stops and even shopping centers. Loneliness and the lack of friendships is something that can definitely alter your personality and mentality drastically. According to an article written by Robert Imrie and published by the Washington post, “That intense fear of being alone apparently surfaced each time one of the men wanted to leave his apartment, causing Dahmer to kill and dismember the victim, the investigator said”. He was so used to people leaving and ignoring him, like his parents did early on in his life, that he didn't want anybody else to leave him. In high school, Dahmer didn't have much friends and people were not willing to approach him because of his short temper. This all might have contributed to the way he carried himself and his mentality, which led him to
