The American Dream is still very alive according to the article “Dumb and Dumber To Lives Up to Its Title” written by Lindsey Bahr. This article is a recap of one of Jim Carrey’s more recent movies, Dumb and Dumber To that he filmed with Jeff Daniels. This article mostly talks about the plot of the movie and what goes on throughout the film. Jim Carrey started out as a stand up comedian in Canada, where he was born. He started doing stand up when he was just fifteen years old at a Toronto comedy club. But life was not always as easy for him as it is now. Throughout his childhood, he moved from Canada to New York and his support from his family soon declined because of financial difficulties. Although he faced adversity he persevered and became one of the highest paid comedians today. First, Jim Carrey is a perfect example of Rags To Riches, and he shows us that equal opportunity still exists in the world today. He has a very unique personality and always plays the role of characters that are quirky or as Lindsey Bahr put it “the dimwitted Lloyd (Jim Carrey)”. This quote shows that Jim Carrey played a silly, not so bright character in Dumb and Dumber To. Being a comedian and actor takes innovation and work ethic to be successful. Jim Carrey has achieved success by persevering through hardships and definitely demonstrates a classic Rag To Riches
